Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Indian Oil Corporation’s new Malkapur Terminal in Hyderabad, a major infrastructure project developed with an investment of ₹611 crore. The facility marks a significant milestone in strengthening India’s fuel logistics network and improving energy distribution efficiency across Telangana and nearby regions.
The state-of-the-art Greenfield terminal has been developed to address the growing demand for petroleum products in the region. With substantial storage capacity and advanced infrastructure, the terminal will help streamline the movement of petrol, diesel and other petroleum products, ensuring faster and more reliable supply to consumers and industries.
The new terminal is expected to significantly improve fuel transportation efficiency by reducing supply bottlenecks and enhancing the overall petroleum distribution network. Its integration with IndianOil’s logistics infrastructure will support smoother operations and better inventory management, helping meet the rising energy requirements of Hyderabad and surrounding industrial zones.
This development also highlights India’s continued investment in modern infrastructure to strengthen energy security and support economic growth. Improved fuel logistics will directly benefit industries, transportation services and commercial operations that rely heavily on uninterrupted energy supply.
Additionally, the project is expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to regional development by boosting infrastructure-led economic activity. As Hyderabad continues to grow as a business and industrial hub, projects like the Malkapur Terminal will play a crucial role in supporting sustainable development and efficient supply chain management.
