NHAI Backs Women’s Skill Development

Date:

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is encouraging women-focused skill development through Project Saksham, an initiative aimed at creating better employment and livelihood opportunities for people from rural and underserved communities.

The programme focuses on providing practical and industry-relevant training to help participants develop skills that can improve their access to employment and financial independence. With a strong emphasis on women’s empowerment, the initiative is helping create opportunities for women to build sustainable careers and participate more actively in the workforce.

Project Saksham operates through multiple training centres across the country and has supported thousands of young people in gaining relevant skills and connecting with employment opportunities. A significant share of its beneficiaries are women, highlighting the programme’s focus on inclusive growth and economic empowerment.

The initiative also reflects a broader effort to ensure that communities living around major infrastructure projects benefit from the development taking place in their regions. By linking skill development with employment opportunities, such programmes can help transform infrastructure growth into meaningful social and economic progress.

Through Project Saksham, NHAI is contributing towards a more inclusive future by supporting skill development, improving employability and creating new pathways towards financial independence for women and young people across India.
