MECON Emerges L1 Bidder for 65-Km Bidadi-Poonapalli Gas Pipeline Project

Date:

MECON has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the appointment of a Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the Bidadi to Poonapalli Pipeline Project.

The proposed natural gas pipeline will have a diameter of 24 inches and span approximately 65.40 km. Under the PMC assignment, MECON will be responsible for supporting project coordination, monitoring and implementation activities throughout the development phase.

The company’s selection as the L1 bidder positions it to undertake the PMC role, subject to completion of the required award and contractual formalities. The consultancy scope is expected to involve engineering coordination, construction supervision and regular project monitoring during execution.

The pipeline project, being developed by GAIL (India), is expected to play an important role in strengthening regional natural gas infrastructure. The approximately 65-km pipeline will serve as a key interconnector between two major regional transmission networks.

The project is expected to enhance connectivity across the gas transmission system while supporting the development and efficient movement of natural gas across the region.
