Indore’s District Hospital Nears Completion After Five Years of Delays

Date:

After facing multiple delays over the past five years, the construction of the district hospital in Indore is finally making significant progress. With four floors nearly completed and work on the fifth floor underway, residents are hopeful for improved healthcare services in the near future.

Initially planned as a 100-bed facility, the hospital has been expanded to accommodate 300 beds, aiming to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the region. At present, only the women’s ward is functional. However, once fully operational, the hospital will feature an emergency ward, surgical ward, paediatric ward, PICU, dialysis ward, operation theatres, TB lab, and PCR lab. This expansion is expected to reduce the reliance on private hospitals, which many residents currently depend on for medical treatment.

The project has experienced repeated setbacks due to tender changes, delaying its completion. However, with construction now progressing rapidly, authorities are optimistic about meeting the revised timeline. The hospital will serve communities in Noorani Nagar, Chandan Nagar, Sirpur, Dwarkapuri, and nearby villages, ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for thousands of residents. The long-awaited facility is poised to become a crucial healthcare hub for Indore.
