Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has announced multiple cooperative infrastructure and environmental development initiatives in Rajasthan, focusing on improving agricultural storage systems, supply chain efficiency, and sustainability efforts.
As part of the initiative, the foundation stone was laid for 10 new grain storage warehouses, while 50 completed warehouses were inaugurated and 100 warehouses were transferred to the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation. These projects are expected to increase the state’s grain storage capacity, support better logistics management, and help reduce post-harvest losses for farmers and rural communities.
Along with strengthening agricultural infrastructure, the ‘Sahkar Van’ project was also launched in Jaipur district through an e-Bhoomi Pujan ceremony. Spread across 64 acres in Sumel village, the project focuses on environmental conservation by promoting the plantation of native tree species such as Khejri, Rohida, and Neem. Both Miyawaki and traditional plantation methods will be used to support sustainable growth.
These initiatives highlight the importance of building strong rural infrastructure while encouraging environmentally responsible development. The projects are expected to improve Rajasthan’s cooperative storage network and contribute to long-term green development goals across the state.
