Varun Beverages Limited (VBL), one of India’s largest beverage bottlers, plans to invest Rs 2,100 crore in a new beverages and snacks manufacturing facility at Arvi in Maharashtra’s Wardha district.
The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, showing the state government’s support for the project.
The facility will be spread across about 125 acres and is expected to create around 550 direct jobs, a significant boost to employment in the region. The plant will make a wide range of products, including carbonated soft drinks, packaged drinking water, dairy products and snacks. It will also manufacture bottles. According to local representatives, this will be VBL’s first move into bottle production.
The location offers strong logistical advantages. Arvi is connected to the Samruddhi Expressway, which links Nagpur and Mumbai. It could also provide access to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, making it easier to move raw materials and finished goods.
The investment is expected to strengthen VBL’s manufacturing presence in Maharashtra. It should also support industrial growth and economic development in the Vidarbha region and create opportunities for local suppliers.
