Hitachi Construction Machinery Reports 33% Sales Growth in India

Date:

Hitachi Construction Machinery has raised its full-year profit forecast following strong financial performance in the first half of FY2027. The Japanese construction equipment manufacturer reported higher revenue and operating profit, supported by steady demand for excavators, increased parts sales and favourable currency movements.

During the first half of FY2027, the company recorded revenue of ¥698.1 billion, marking a 6.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Adjusted operating profit increased by 25% to ¥75.2 billion, while net income rose by 31.6% to ¥49.7 billion.

The company also witnessed strong regional growth. Sales increased by 33% in India, 26% in Oceania and 25% in Latin America. This growth highlights the rising demand for construction machinery across key infrastructure and development markets.

Based on its performance, Hitachi Construction Machinery revised its full-year operating profit forecast upwards to ¥158 billion under IFRS, an increase of ¥8 billion from its earlier guidance. Steady global demand for excavators and a weaker Japanese yen supported the improved outlook.

The company also plans to maintain its annual dividend at ¥190 per share, reflecting its focus on shareholder returns.

The improved outlook highlights the importance of infrastructure development, construction activity and demand for advanced machinery in supporting the company’s future growth.
