Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI) has expanded its product range with three new excavator models: SK210, SK215LC and SK230XDLC. Designed for the 19.1–24 tonne segment, the machines combine Japanese engineering with domestic manufacturing to meet the changing requirements of India’s infrastructure and construction sectors.
The excavators are produced at the company’s Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh, which has an annual manufacturing capacity of around 3,500 units. The facility has already produced more than 20,000 machines for India and international markets spanning over 16 countries.
All three models feature a 150 HP Cummins F4.5 CRDI engine, alongside enhanced digging capabilities and a power boost function. Additional features include GEOSCAN remote monitoring, LED work lights and standard air-conditioning. Longer maintenance intervals for hydraulic oil and filters are intended to reduce servicing requirements, improve machine availability and lower operating expenses.
Jun Hayama, Managing Director of KCEI, highlighted India’s importance to Kobelco’s Asian growth strategy, noting that the launch coincides with the company’s 20-year presence in the country.
Moses Eddy, Director of KCEI, emphasised the importance of combining technology and localisation to improve excavation economics for customers.
The new lineup reinforces Kobelco’s focus on fuel efficiency, productivity and cost-effective equipment solutions, targeting contractors involved in India’s expanding infrastructure development projects.
