Ghaziabad Gets EFC Approval for Rs 138 Crore Drainage Upgrade Project

Date:

Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has secured Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) approval for a Rs 138 crore drainage upgrade works.

The project entails remodelling a major drain running alongside Crossings Republik township, from ABES Engineering College to Shahberi culvert in Greater Noida West. The project will require final approval from the Uttar Pradesh government before implementation. According to the detailed project report (DPR), the redevelopment will cover a 1.752 km stretch of the drain using precast slabs. A two-lane road will also be constructed over the remodelled drain to improve connectivity and ease pressure on the existing road between National Highway 9 and Shahberi.

The drain connects with several drainage networks serving South Side GT Road, Bulandshahr Road industrial area, and other localities.
