UltraTech Cement reported a strong financial performance in the second quarter of FY2026-27, supported by higher cement sales volumes and increased demand from India’s construction and infrastructure sectors.
The company’s consolidated net profit rose 21.3% year-on-year to ₹1,494 crore for the July–September 2026 quarter, compared with approximately ₹1,232 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations increased 18.8% to ₹23,295 crore, reflecting improved sales and business activity.
Domestic grey cement sales volumes grew 13.8% year-on-year to 35.94 million tonnes, up from 31.58 million tonnes a year earlier. Capacity utilisation also improved to 71%, compared with 66% in the year-ago quarter.
However, the company faced several operational challenges, including monsoon-related disruptions and geopolitical tensions in West Asia. Rising input costs also affected profitability, with total expenses increasing nearly 17.8% year-on-year to ₹21,339 crore. Despite the growth in earnings, the company’s profit fell short of market expectations.
UltraTech continued to expand its manufacturing capabilities during the quarter, strengthening its position in India’s competitive cement market. It also launched Ultravolt, its new wires and cables business, as part of its broader diversification strategy.
The results highlight the resilience of India’s construction materials sector amid cost pressures and external uncertainties. Continued demand from housing, commercial construction and infrastructure projects is expected to remain important for cement manufacturers.
Going forward, UltraTech’s ability to manage rising costs, sustain sales growth and improve operational efficiency will be crucial to maintaining profitability and supporting its expansion plans.
