Transforming Varanasi: Green Innovations and New Connectivity Projects Drive Sustainable Progress

Date:

Significant developments were reported in Varanasi’s construction and infrastructure sector. The NTPC’s Urban Waste to Charcoal Plant, located in the city, began its operations and is converting approximately 50 metric tons of waste into green charcoal daily. This plant is part of efforts to promote sustainable waste management solutions in Varanasi, which aims to address urban waste issues while contributing to energy generation.

Additionally, the construction of a new rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga River has been approved, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and improve connectivity. The bridge, which will run parallel to the iconic Malaviya Bridge, is expected to serve both rail and road transportation and promises a long-term solution to traffic issues in the city.
