SSCL Diversifies Into Hospitality With Major Investments in Rajasthan

Date:

Saboo Sodium Chloro (SSCL) has signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Rajasthan government to develop hospitality projects, marking a strategic diversification into the sector.
The company announced two major projects under its banner: the Rs 400 crore Samskara Resort in Udaipur and an Rs 85 crore resort in Jodhpur. Additionally, through its associate firm Villashare Tech, where SSCL holds a 20% stake, investments of Rs 425 crore have been committed, including a Rs 75 crore resort in Sawai Madhopur and a Rs 350 crore Crown Plaza Hotel in Jaipur.
These ventures are expected to generate significant employment opportunities, with SSCL’s projects creating 550 direct jobs and Villashare’s initiatives adding 300 direct jobs. The projects are projected to be completed by 2026-2027.
The Rajasthan government’s financial incentives, including a capital subsidy of up to 20% on fixed capital investments and exemptions from stamp duty and electricity duty for seven years, have been key drivers for these investments. SSCL estimates total savings over the 10-year subsidy period could exceed Rs 150 crore.
These developments align with the state’s ‘Rising Rajasthan 2024’ initiative, aimed at bolstering Rajasthan’s hospitality infrastructure and promoting economic growth.
