IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company has secured a subcontract worth ₹414.05 crore for the Jaipur Metro Phase-II Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project, strengthening its presence in India’s urban transportation infrastructure sector.
The awarded contract includes the design and construction of an elevated viaduct, ten elevated Metro stations, and a spur line connecting the corridor to the depot. The project corridor extends from chainage (-) 600 metres to 11,400 metres and will cover key locations including Prahladpura, Manpura, Bilwa Kalan, Goner Mod, Sitapura, JECC, Kumbha Marg, Haldighati Gate, and Pinjrapole Gaushala. Architectural finishing works are excluded from the scope of the subcontract.
The subcontract represents approximately 49 percent of the total contract awarded by Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation. Following the receipt of the Letter of Award (LoA) from the consortium’s lead member and principal contractor, IL&FS Engineering is set to commence project execution activities.
The Jaipur Metro Phase-II project is expected to significantly enhance the city’s public transportation network, improve urban connectivity, and reduce travel time for commuters. The development will also support Jaipur’s growing infrastructure needs while promoting sustainable and efficient urban mobility.
This latest contract further reinforces IL&FS Engineering’s capabilities in delivering complex metro rail and transportation infrastructure projects across India.
