Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has urged Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to expedite Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approval for four major highway and expressway projects across the state.
The proposed infrastructure developments span approximately 330 km and are aimed at improving road connectivity, reducing logistics costs and easing traffic congestion.
The four key projects include a two-lane bridge over the Gandak River under NH-727AA, estimated to cost ₹1,976.77 crore. The plan also includes six-lane elevated roads and service roads along the Saristabad-Didarganj and Anisabad-Didarganj stretches.
The Patna-Purnia four-lane greenfield expressway, designated NH-09, is the largest project, with an estimated investment of ₹31,987.11 crore.
In addition, the Chief Minister has called for faster execution of the Gorakhpur-Siliguri and Raxaul-Haldia expressways, along with the four-laning of the Muzaffarpur-Barauni section of NH-122.
These infrastructure initiatives are expected to strengthen Bihar’s regional connectivity, improve transportation efficiency and facilitate trade and economic development. Faster project approvals could also accelerate the state’s road infrastructure expansion.
