The Delhi government is set to transform property transactions by introducing a fully paperless registration system within the next five to six months. This initiative aims to simplify the process, reduce paperwork and enhance transparency in the real estate sector.
Under the new system, buyers and sellers will be able to complete most steps online, including application submission, document uploads and verification. The need for physical visits to sub-registrar offices will be significantly reduced, limited mainly to biometric authentication. This is expected to save time and improve overall efficiency for both citizens and authorities.
The government also plans to integrate digital storage solutions, allowing registered property documents to be securely accessed online. This ensures easy retrieval of records while reducing the risk of document loss or damage.
A key objective of this reform is to minimize corruption and human intervention. By automating processes and maintaining accurate digital records, the system aims to prevent fraudulent transactions and ensure smoother property dealings.
This move is part of Delhi’s broader push toward digital governance and ease of doing business. If successfully implemented, it could modernize the real estate registration process and set a benchmark for other states to follow.
