The Central government has invited states to submit applications from June 1 for setting up plug-and-play industrial parks under the ₹33,660 crore Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA) scheme. Approved by the Union Cabinet earlier this year, the ambitious initiative aims to create 100 world-class industrial parks across India between 2026-27 and 2031-32.
As per the guidelines issued by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the first phase will shortlist 50 proposals in two rounds. The first application window will remain open from June 1 to July 31, 2026, with up to 20 proposals expected to be selected. A second round, from August 1 to September 30, 2026, will allow states that were not selected initially to improve and resubmit their proposals.
The scheme is designed to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem by creating ready-to-use industrial infrastructure for investors, which can also support logistics hubs and warehousing operations. Non-hilly states must provide at least 100 acres of contiguous land, while hilly states, northeastern regions, union territories, and smaller states with populations below one crore need a minimum of 25 acres.
BHAVYA is expected to attract both domestic and international manufacturers by offering investment-ready industrial spaces, making it easier to launch manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing operations across India.
