Badri Rai & Co. has been declared the lowest (L1) bidder by Bridge & Roof Co. (India) for the development of a major sports infrastructure project in Meghalaya. The project involves the construction of an aquatic and tennis complex, along with a youth hostel, at Mawdiangdiang in the East Khasi Hills district.
The financial bids for the contract were opened on 18 June 2025. Badri Rai & Co. submitted a competitive bid of ₹191.53 crore, securing its position as the lowest bidder. The construction work will be executed on a sub-contract basis.
This state-of-the-art facility is expected to boost sports development and youth engagement in the region. The project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months from the start of construction.
Bridge & Roof Co. (India), a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, is overseeing the execution of the project. With this win, Badri Rai & Co. continues to strengthen its presence in large-scale infrastructure development across the country.
The upcoming complex is anticipated to enhance the region’s sports infrastructure and provide better training and accommodation facilities for athletes and young sports enthusiasts in Meghalaya.
