NHAI Invites Bids for Slope Protection on Pandoh-Manali Highway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the construction of slope protection measures along the Pandoh-Manali stretch in Himachal Pradesh. The project aims to prevent landslides, rockfalls, river cuts, and bank erosion, ensuring safer travel along this crucial highway.

The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract covers critical locations, including the Jhalogi landslide (km 228+040 to km 228+150) and river-cut affected sections in Pandoh-Takoli (RC-4, RC-5, RC-6) and Takoli-Kullu (RC-9, RC-10, RC-12, RC-15). These measures are vital for maintaining road stability in the mountainous terrain, especially during heavy rainfall and extreme weather conditions.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 316.23 crore, with a completion timeline of one year. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for the maintenance of the protected slopes for a period of 10 years, ensuring long-term stability.

Interested bidders must submit their proposals by April 17, 2025. The project is expected to significantly enhance road safety and infrastructure resilience in the region.
