Jaipur Metro Phase 1C Construction Begins: ₹630 Crore Project to Boost Urban Connectivity

A significant development in Jaipur’s infrastructure came in late October with the commencement of the construction works for Jaipur Metro Phase 1C. Afcons Infrastructure began underground construction on Package UG-03 of this phase, which will extend the existing Pink Line by 3.41 kilometers. This expansion will include the creation of twin tunnels beneath the city’s old quarter, as well as new stations at Ramganj Chaupar and Transport Nagar.

The project is being undertaken at a cost of ₹630.45 crore and is expected to improve urban connectivity in Jaipur. The construction will involve deploying tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and creating a cut-and-cover tunnel, with tunneling work anticipated to begin by the third quarter of 2025. The entire underground section is projected to be operational by 2028.
