Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) to jointly undertake large‐scale railway and multi-modal transport infrastructure projects in India and abroad.
This collaboration brings together HCC’s strong expertise in heavy civil construction and design with KRCL’s extensive experience in railway operations, engineering and maintenance. Under the agreement, the two entities will combine their resources and jointly bid for projects under various frameworks, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), design-build, public–private partnerships and unit-rate contracts.
The scope of work under this partnership covers the entire spectrum of transport infrastructure: civil works, track laying, signaling and electrification, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems, operations and maintenance, underground and elevated metro systems, tunneling using the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) and railway bridges. The MoU also allows flexibility to form joint ventures, consortiums, or other project-specific structures depending on requirements.
This alliance significantly enhances the competitive edge of both HCC and KRCL in domestic as well as international markets. For KRCL, it brings access to HCC’s broader civil engineering capabilities, while for HCC, it secures a technical partner with deep expertise in railway systems. At a time when India and several global economies are investing heavily in modern transport infrastructure, this partnership is positioned to pursue ambitious projects with greater scale, synergy and execution efficiency.
