In a major step to improve road connectivity, the Centre has cleared plans for a 30-km expressway that will connect Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the upcoming Jewar International Airport.
The new corridor will run parallel to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, along the Yamuna River. It will link Pushta Road with both the Yamuna and Noida-Greater Noida expressways, creating an additional route for the fast-growing region.
The idea was first proposed by MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and received strong support from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. In March 2025, the Noida Authority gave in-principle clearance, and now the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is expected to take charge of execution. Only a formal approval remains before work begins.
The project is vital because the current 25-km expressway carries more than 5 lakh vehicles daily, often leading to heavy congestion. The new expressway will act as a strategic bypass, making traffic smoother and providing direct access to Jewar Airport, which is expected to be a major aviation hub.
With NHAI’s involvement, the corridor will be built to national highway construction standards, ensuring long-term quality and faster completion.
