Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated six major infrastructure projects worth ₹766.73 crore to improve road connectivity in western Patna. The projects, earlier announced during the CM’s Pragati Yatra, include four major roads, a flyover, and an underground drain-cum-road system.
Foundation stone-laying ceremonies were organised at three locations — AIIMS roundabout, near Kathwan Rupaspur canal, and Nehru Path below Patli road.
Key works include widening the 10.5 km AIIMS–Janipur–Painapur Nev road (₹138.50 crore), construction of a Naubatpur flyover (₹73.06 crore), a 6.9 km four-lane link road to Khagaul–Nehru Path (₹71.48 crore), and a Danapur link road (₹148.86 crore). The largest project, worth ₹318.51 crore, will create an underground drainage-cum-road from Rupaspur canal to Saguna Mor. Another ₹21.35 crore will be spent on widening the Nehru Path–Gola road.
Addressing the gathering, CM Kumar said these projects will ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity between key localities, and spur economic growth. The inauguration was attended by Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, MLC Rabindra Kumar Singh, and senior officials.
Officials said the projects are expected to significantly reduce travel time and support Patna’s expanding urban infrastructure needs.
