KCC Buildcon has secured the position of lowest (L1) bidder for the ₹283 crore contract to develop a new greenfield airport at Bundi, near Kota, Rajasthan. The tender, issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), covers a wide scope of work including detailed designing, engineering, procurement, and execution of key airside infrastructure.
The project involves extensive earthworks, grading, and the construction of a runway, taxiways, apron, and isolation bay. It also includes civil and electrical works for NAV-AIDS (navigational aids) facilities, as well as building a perimeter and approach road, operational and non-operational boundary walls, a runway lighting system, and other essential allied works.
This greenfield airport is a significant step towards improving regional air connectivity under the Government of India’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, aimed at linking underserved regions with affordable air travel.
Winning this high-value bid further reinforces KCC Buildcon’s capabilities in delivering complex aviation infrastructure projects. With expertise in both civil and electrical domains, the company is set to play a vital role in advancing Rajasthan’s aviation network while supporting the broader goal of boosting economic activity and tourism in the region.
