New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the Badvel–Nellore Highway Project in Andhra Pradesh, envisaging the development of a four-lane corridor spanning 108.134 km. The project runs from Badvel Gopapuram village on NH-67 (design chainage 630.960 km) to Guruvindapudi village on NH-16 (design chainage 739.094 km).
Awarded on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT-Toll) basis, the contract encompasses detailed engineering, construction, toll plaza installation, and two years of operation before transfer. With an estimated project value of ₹2,841.38 crore, the works are slated for completion within 24 months of contract award.
Once operational, this new stretch will significantly cut travel time between the Rayalaseema hinterland and Andhra’s coastal belt, enhancing freight movement to key ports and stimulating regional commerce. Improved road safety measures and modern pavement design are expected to reduce accidents and maintenance costs.
Interested bidders can download the tender documents from the NHAI e-tender portal. The deadline for bid submission is 13 August 2025. NHAI anticipates strong interest from both domestic and global infrastructure developers for this landmark highway project.
