Mumbai’s Redevelopment Boom Attracts Developers from Bengaluru, NCR and Hyderabad

Date:

Mumbai’s redevelopment surge is attracting developers from Bengaluru, NCR, and Hyderabad, drawn by high margins and limited land availability. Hyderabad-based Ramky Estates & Farms recently entered the market with a 1.5-acre slum rehabilitation project in Chembur, aiming to develop approximately 5 lakh sq ft with a revenue potential of ₹500 crore.

Other notable entrants include Bengaluru’s Prestige Group and Puravankara, and Delhi-based DLF, all seeking to capitalize on Mumbai’s lucrative redevelopment opportunities. The city’s high demand and premium pricing make it an attractive market for these developers.

A local developer highlighted the profitability, stating that earning ₹30,000 per sq ft in Mumbai is unmatched elsewhere. This trend underscores Mumbai’s position as a prime destination for real estate redevelopment.
