Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni) has announced its investment in a residential real estate project in Pune, Maharashtra, in partnership with Kolte-Patil Developers Ltd. (KPDL), a leading real estate developer in the region. This marks Marubeni’s fourth real estate venture in India and its third collaboration with KPDL. The investment will be made through the subscription of non-convertible debentures issued by KPDL.
Pune, with a population of 7 million, has evolved into a prominent education, manufacturing, and IT hub, attracting talent from across India. The project is located in Wagholi, a fast-developing suburban area close to Kharadi, one of Pune’s major IT hubs, making it an ideal location for residential development.
Marubeni plans to leverage its expertise in real estate to expand into related sectors, including social infrastructure and distribution services, beyond traditional real estate development. This aligns with its broader strategy to establish the Indian real estate market as a core part of its overseas ventures.
By focusing on high-potential areas like Wagholi, Marubeni aims to contribute to the rapid urbanization and infrastructure development in India, fostering sustainable growth and enhancing living standards.
