CREDAI Tamil Nadu Urges Government to Ease Restrictions on Transport of Construction Materials

Date:

The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) Tamil Nadu has appealed to the state government to permit the transportation of construction materials, emphasizing its critical role in sustaining ongoing projects and ensuring timely delivery. The request comes in light of restrictions that have disrupted supply chains, affecting the real estate and infrastructure sectors.

CREDAI Tamil Nadu highlighted that delays in material transport are causing project timelines to extend, increasing costs for developers and homebuyers alike. Materials such as sand, cement, and steel are vital for construction, and any bottleneck in their availability impacts the progress of both residential and commercial projects.

In its statement, CREDAI urged the government to consider measures like designated transport timings or specific routes to address environmental and traffic concerns while allowing construction activities to continue uninterrupted.

“The real estate sector is a key contributor to Tamil Nadu’s economy, providing employment and driving growth. Ensuring the smooth movement of materials is essential for maintaining momentum in this vital sector,” said a CREDAI Tamil Nadu representative.

The association also stressed the importance of collaboration between authorities and stakeholders to strike a balance between development needs and regulatory compliance.
