Hitachi Construction Machinery Opens Advanced Mill Liner Foundry in Peru to Strengthen Mining Supply Chain

Date:

Hitachi Construction Machinery has expanded its presence in the global mining sector with the opening of a new mill liner foundry in Chilca, Peru. The facility is designed to strengthen regional manufacturing capabilities and improve supply chain efficiency for mining customers across Latin America.

The new foundry will focus on producing large mill liners, critical components used in mining operations to protect grinding mills and improve productivity. By establishing local production capabilities, Hitachi aims to reduce delivery times and provide faster support to mining companies in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and other markets.

Located in Chilca, approximately 70 km south of Lima, the facility benefits from existing industrial infrastructure and access to renewable energy resources. The company expects the use of hydroelectric power to significantly reduce carbon emissions compared with conventional energy sources, supporting more sustainable mining operations.

The investment reflects Hitachi Construction Machinery Group’s strategy to expand its value-chain businesses, including parts manufacturing and services, while staying closer to customers. The facility will also support circular economy initiatives by enabling recycling opportunities for used mill liners.

With this new manufacturing base, Hitachi is strengthening its position in the Latin American mining market and creating a foundation for future growth through advanced manufacturing, sustainability and improved customer support.
