Oswal Energies has achieved a significant milestone in India’s clean energy journey by being awarded the country’s first port-based 5 MW Green Hydrogen Project at Deendayal Port, Kandla. The project will be developed through its joint venture, Oswal Greenzo Energies, in collaboration with Greenzo Energy India, under the Government of India’s Sagarmala Initiative.
The contract covers the complete scope of work, including the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the green hydrogen plant within the port premises. This landmark development positions Deendayal Port as a national pioneer in maritime decarbonisation, making it the first major Indian port to host a green hydrogen production facility.
The plant will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis and is designed with scalability in mind. It includes provisions for future expansion up to 10 MW using common infrastructure, ensuring long-term flexibility and growth. Once operational, the facility is expected to produce approximately 800 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. The generated hydrogen will support cleaner port operations and promote the adoption of green mobility solutions.
Aligned with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, the project aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions across the maritime, logistics, and transport sectors. It represents a crucial step toward accelerating India’s transition to sustainable and low-carbon energy systems.
