A major new logistics warehouse is set to rise just a mile from the Port of Wilmington, with construction scheduled to begin in spring 2026. Planned for a 33-acre site at 800 New Castle Avenue, the facility aims to meet the growing need for modern industrial storage space near the port.
The upcoming warehouse will span 120,000 square feet and will be equipped with 28-foot clear heights, overhead crane capacity, and direct rail access — making it highly suitable for heavy cargo handling and large-scale freight operations. Before construction begins, nearly 11 acres of the site will undergo tree clearing and grading. Environmental remediation approvals are already in place, ensuring the project can move forward smoothly.
Once completed, the development is expected to ease the shortage of institutional-grade logistics space in the region. Early projections indicate the warehouse could create up to 100 jobs, providing a boost to local employment.
The project is being led by a New Jersey-based real estate developer and reflects a broader trend of increased logistical investment around the Port of Wilmington. The new facility is positioned to support rising demand for efficient cargo movement, storage, and distribution across the mid-Atlantic region.
