SEAMEC has entered into a contract with G R Infraprojects for the charter hire of its offshore vessel, SEAMEC II, strengthening its presence in subsea infrastructure activities.
Under the agreement, the vessel will be deployed for subsea installation work associated with projects of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Operations are scheduled to begin shortly, supporting offshore infrastructure development and related subsea activities.
The contract has been formalised through a BIMCO Charter Party agreement, a widely used framework for vessel chartering arrangements in the maritime and offshore sectors. The agreement provides for the deployment of SEAMEC II under the new assignment.
The latest contract also follows the successful completion of the vessel’s previous long-term engagement with ONGC. Its redeployment under the new charter enables SEAMEC to maintain continued utilisation of the asset while supporting ongoing offshore project requirements.
The development reflects sustained activity in India’s offshore and subsea infrastructure segment, particularly in projects linked to energy exploration and production.
With SEAMEC II moving into another assignment, the company continues to participate in subsea installation and offshore support activities. The new contract also provides an opportunity to maintain operational continuity for the vessel while contributing to infrastructure projects connected with ONGC’s offshore operations.
The engagement highlights the continuing requirement for specialised vessels and subsea capabilities in India’s energy infrastructure sector.
