SDLG India Opens Gujarat Facility as Part of ₹1,500 Crore Expansion

Date:

Construction equipment manufacturer SDLG India has announced plans to invest around ₹1,500 crore in India as it looks to expand domestic manufacturing, increase localisation and strengthen its presence in the Indian market.

As the first step of the expansion, the company has invested ₹300 crore in a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat. The facility is planned to reach an annual production capacity of up to 3,000 construction equipment units through phased expansion. It will manufacture equipment including wheel loaders, excavators and electric vehicles.

The company is also focusing on developing a stronger Indian supplier ecosystem by increasing sourcing from local vendors. The move is expected to support greater localisation across its manufacturing operations and supply chain.

Alongside the manufacturing expansion, SDLG India has introduced 10 new construction equipment products covering diesel and electric excavators, wheel loaders and motor graders. The new machines are aimed at sectors including infrastructure, construction and mining, with updates to hydraulics, operator controls and safety features.

SDLG officials said India is an important part of the company’s long-term global growth strategy. The Gujarat facility and broader investment plan are expected to support the company’s efforts to increase production capacity, develop local suppliers and respond to demand from India’s construction and infrastructure sectors.
