Volvo Construction Equipment India has commercially launched its new EC650 mining excavator at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 in Greater Noida. The 65-tonne-class machine has been introduced for demanding mining and mass-excavation applications, expanding Volvo CE’s equipment portfolio in India.
The EC650 is powered by Volvo’s D13E engine, delivering 435 hp. It features a heavy-duty undercarriage, reinforced boom and arm, and advanced hydraulic systems designed for demanding operating conditions. According to Volvo CE, these features are aimed at supporting productivity, durability and fuel efficiency in intensive mining operations.
The machine is available for immediate deliveries to mining customers and will also be offered through Volvo CE’s Equipment-as-a-Service model. This provides customers with an alternative way to access heavy equipment while managing their operational requirements.
Beyond the machine itself, Volvo CE is offering connected services, productivity solutions and repair and maintenance agreements. These services are intended to support equipment uptime and performance throughout the machine’s operating lifecycle.
At bauma CONEXPO INDIA, Volvo CE is also displaying a broad portfolio covering construction, mining, compaction and electric equipment. Its mining line-up includes the EC480, EC650 and L150, while its wider display features models such as the EC210, EC215, EC220 and EC300 excavators, along with the L120 Electric Wheel Loader.
The EC650 launch highlights Volvo CE’s continued focus on serving India’s mining and infrastructure equipment requirements through heavy-duty machinery, connected services and flexible equipment solutions.
