NCB, UltraTech Partner to Strengthen India’s Construction Workforce

Date:

The National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UltraTech Cement Limited to strengthen skill development and capacity building in India’s construction sector. The agreement was signed at NCB’s Ballabgarh campus by NCB Director General Dr L. P. Singh and UltraTech Cement’s Head of Technical Services, Er. Rahul Goel.

The partnership will introduce structured training and certification programmes for civil engineers, ready-mix concrete professionals, contractors, construction workers and masons across the country.

Training will focus on important areas such as material quality testing, concrete mix proportioning, durability and sustainable construction practices. The initiative will also include workshops, site demonstrations, technical seminars and visits to cement plants and ready-mix concrete facilities to provide participants with practical exposure.

According to NCB, a large number of professionals and workers are expected to receive training over the next three to five years. The initiative is aligned with the Government’s Skill India Mission and aims to develop a workforce capable of supporting India’s expanding infrastructure and housing requirements.

The collaboration is expected to improve technical skills, promote better construction practices and contribute to higher-quality, durable and sustainable infrastructure across the country.
