RITES and SCI Launch Maritime Logistics Project for Smarter Transport Solutions

Date:

RITES Limited, a leading transport infrastructure consultancy, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) to strengthen maritime logistics and multimodal transport solutions.

The agreement, signed during India Maritime Week 2025, marks a significant step toward improving efficiency and timeliness in global cargo movement managed by RITES. Under this collaboration, both organisations will work together to design cost-effective and resilient supply chain models, integrate digital cargo tracking systems, and enhance logistics planning for high-value consignments.

The partnership aims to promote innovation in freight movement by combining RITES’ expertise in transport consultancy with SCI’s strong maritime operations network. It also focuses on developing a robust framework for sustainable and technology-driven logistics infrastructure.

Additionally, RITES and SCI will jointly undertake capacity-building and knowledge-sharing initiatives to improve supply chain resilience and operational best practices. The MoU underscores India’s growing focus on strengthening its maritime and multimodal logistics ecosystem, aligning with the government’s vision to make logistics more efficient, transparent, and globally competitive.

This strategic partnership is expected to open new avenues for smarter, faster, and more sustainable transport solutions across India and international trade routes.
