The Central Government has approved a proposal to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Rajasthan, with financial assistance of ₹81 crore. The initiative aims to strengthen the state’s EV ecosystem and support the growing adoption of electric mobility.
According to official sources, the approved funds will be used to install new charging stations across key urban centers, highways, and strategic locations to ensure better accessibility for EV users. The move is expected to reduce range anxiety among consumers and encourage a shift toward cleaner transportation options.
The expansion plan is aligned with the government’s broader vision of promoting sustainable mobility and reducing carbon emissions. Officials stated that improved charging infrastructure is a critical component in accelerating EV adoption, particularly in states with expanding urban and intercity travel demand.
Industry experts believe that the initiative will also attract private investment in the EV sector and create new opportunities in charging services, maintenance, and related technologies. Rajasthan has been gradually strengthening its EV policy framework, and this development is expected to further boost confidence among manufacturers and consumers.
The project will be implemented in phases, with a focus on efficiency, coverage, and long-term sustainability.
