MahaRERA Registers Over 50,000 Real Estate Agents in Eight Years; Mumbai Leads the Pack

As of May 2025, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has registered a total of 50,673 real estate agents since its inception in 2017. Of these, 31,980 registrations are currently active, while 18,693 have been canceled due to various reasons, including non-compliance with regulatory requirements .

Regional Distribution:

  • Mumbai Metropolitan Region (Konkan area): Leads with 21,050 registered agents.

  • Pune Region: Follows with 8,205 registered agents.

  • Nagpur Region: Accounts for 1,504 registered agents.

  • Northern Maharashtra: Has 490 registered agents.

  • Sambhajinagar Region: Comprises 343 registered agents.

  • Amravati Region: Includes 237 registered agents.

The high concentration of registered agents in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Pune underscores the robust real estate activities in these areas. MahaRERA’s stringent registration and compliance protocols aim to enhance transparency and professionalism in the real estate sector across Maharashtra.
