Robotics is slowly becoming part of India’s construction industry, as companies look for faster and more efficient ways to complete building work. Pace Robotics is among the companies helping bring this technology to construction sites.
The company’s Centa Painter robot has gained commercial interest after moving from testing to actual project use. According to Pace Robotics, the robot has secured an order book of around Rs 5 crore within six months of its commercial launch.
Centa Painter is designed for finishing work such as putty application, sanding, primer and painting on walls and ceilings. The company says the robot can complete these tasks much faster than traditional methods while reducing the amount of manual work needed.
More than 20 developers and construction companies have evaluated the robot through demonstrations. Some of these companies are now moving towards commercial orders and repeat purchases.
An important part of Pace Robotics’ approach is making the technology simple enough for construction workers to operate. The company says the robot does not require specialised robotics engineers for regular site operations. This can make automation easier to introduce at construction sites.
Pace Robotics started commercial deployment of Centa Painter in December 2025 after years of research, testing and pilot projects. The company is now working to expand its manufacturing and deployment network.
The growing use of construction robots points to a new direction for India’s building industry, where technology and human skills can work together to improve productivity and project execution.
