Kuehne+Nagel has strengthened its presence in India by launching a new Container Freight Station (CFS) in Mumbai, aimed at supporting the country’s rapidly growing trade ecosystem. The 3,500 sqm, built-to-suit facility is strategically located near the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s largest container port, enabling faster and more efficient cargo movement.
Designed to enhance sea logistics capabilities, the new station offers scalable operations and streamlined cargo handling, along with value-added logistics services. Its proximity to a major maritime gateway allows quicker turnaround times, which is crucial as India’s containerised trade volumes continue to rise.
The facility also adheres to global safety and compliance standards, including CTPAT, AEO, and ISO certifications, ensuring secure and reliable operations. Advanced surveillance systems and modern infrastructure further strengthen its operational efficiency.
In line with sustainability goals, the CFS incorporates eco-friendly features such as electric material-handling equipment and solar-powered lighting to reduce environmental impact.
This development reflects Kuehne+Nagel’s commitment to expanding its logistics footprint in India while addressing increasing demand for efficient, secure, and sustainable supply chain solutions in a growing economy.
