Indian Real Estate Attracts $80 Billion: A Growth Story

Date:

Over the past 15 years, the Indian real estate sector has attracted a significant amount of institutional investment, reaching approximately $80 billion.

A joint report by CREDAI and Colliers India highlights that foreign investors accounted for 57% of this capital inflow, while domestic investment has seen a notable increase since the pandemic.

Looking ahead, the report projects a massive growth for the sector, forecasting its size to expand to a range of $5 trillion to $10 trillion by 2047. This optimistic outlook is fueled by a combination of supportive government policies, strong market demand and growing interest from both domestic and international investors. The report also predicts that the country’s Grade A office and industrial real estate stock will surpass 2 billion square feet and annual residential sales could potentially double to 1 million units. This growth trajectory underscores the real estate sector’s vital role in India’s overall economic expansion and its increasing appeal as a long-term investment destination.
