Venjaramoodu Flyover Construction: A Guide to New Traffic Diversions

Date:

Following the start of flyover construction at Venjaramoodu Junction, traffic restrictions have been put in place to manage the flow of vehicles. The first phase, which involves piling work and the installation of fencing, has begun, prompting new traffic diversions.

Heavy vehicles traveling from Kottarakkara to Thiruvananthapuram (excluding KSRTC buses) are now rerouted via Kilimanoor and Nagaroor. Other vehicles on this route will take a bypass at Ambalamukku towards Pirappancode. Similarly, heavy vehicles coming from Thiruvananthapuram to Kottarakkara via MC Road must now go through Kazhakkoottam, Attingal and Alamcode before rejoining the MC Road at Kilimanoor. Vehicles from Vattappara and Pothencode also have designated diversion routes to navigate the construction zone.

KSRTC buses have specific, separate routes to minimize disruption to their schedules. Vehicles from Thiruvananthapuram to Venjaramoodu, for instance, are being directed through Thaikkad and Samannwaya Nagar. These measures are expected to remain in effect until the completion of the flyover project. Commuters are advised to follow the new signage and diversions to ensure smooth travel and avoid congestion.
