Finlay has introduced its new Elektro range of hybrid crushing and screening equipment in India at Bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026. Developed and manufactured by Terex India at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu, the range aims to improve operational efficiency while reducing fuel consumption and operating costs.
The new range initially includes two models: the J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher and the C-1540 Elektro cone crusher. Both machines use diesel-electric technology and can operate on mains electricity when a grid connection is available or an onboard diesel generator at remote sites.
The J-1170 Elektro is designed for quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications. It features a direct electric-drive jaw crusher and a heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder to support efficient material processing.
The C-1540 Elektro cone crusher combines direct electric-drive technology with the Terex 1000 cone chamber. It also includes automated metal detection, a cone level sensor and telematics for real-time machine monitoring.
According to Finlay, the hybrid equipment can help reduce fuel consumption, lower maintenance requirements and improve operating costs compared with conventional diesel-hydraulic machines.
The launch reflects the growing demand for efficient and flexible construction equipment in India’s infrastructure, mining and aggregates sectors. By combining electric-drive technology with onboard power generation, the machines offer operators flexibility across different working environments.
The company plans to expand the Elektro range with additional models in the future. The equipment will initially serve the Indian market, followed by selected international markets where Tier 3 emission standards apply.
