JCB India has achieved a major milestone by producing and selling its 600,000th construction machine in the country, highlighting the company’s long-standing role in India’s infrastructure and construction equipment sector. The landmark machine is a Backhoe Loader, one of the most widely used construction machines in India.
JCB has been present in India since 1979 and has steadily expanded its manufacturing and supplier network. The company now operates six manufacturing facilities in India, making the country an important production base for its global operations. Machines manufactured in India are exported to more than 135 countries.
The Backhoe Loader has played an important role in India’s infrastructure development because of its ability to handle different types of construction and material-handling work. It is widely used in infrastructure projects, rural development and agricultural applications.
According to JCB India CEO and Managing Director Deepak Shetty, the milestone reflects decades of trust from customers, dealers, suppliers and other partners. The company also sees continued opportunities as central and state governments increase spending on infrastructure.
JCB India is focusing on local manufacturing, engineering innovation, productivity and skill development to support the country’s infrastructure growth. Its latest achievement also underlines India’s growing importance as a global manufacturing and export hub for construction equipment.
