As construction projects become larger and more complex, crane safety is becoming increasingly important. Action Construction Equipment (ACE) is addressing this challenge by integrating intelligent technologies into its next-generation pick-and-carry cranes.
ACE’s Ultra Series is designed to move beyond traditional safety alerts. Instead of simply warning operators about potential risks, the machines can assess operating conditions in real time and automatically intervene when safety parameters are breached.
One of the key technologies is the Safe Crane Operation System (SCOS), which detects overloading and restricts boom extension and load hoisting. Corrective movements remain possible, helping prevent unsafe lifting conditions.
The Advanced Load Sensing System (ALSS) continuously monitors the load and can automatically shift the crane into low-speed, four-wheel-drive mode when prescribed load thresholds are crossed. This helps reduce instability during pick-and-carry operations.
ACE has also introduced Remote Articulation Stability (RAS), which adjusts the crane’s safe working capacity according to articulation angles and updates the Safe Load Indicator accordingly.
These technologies are complemented by ACE Live Telematics, which provides real-time information on machine health, utilisation, overload events, location and maintenance status.
By combining intelligent automation, fail-safe controls and connected technology, ACE is moving crane safety from reactive warnings towards proactive risk prevention—helping construction companies achieve safer and more efficient lifting operations.
