L&T Transportation Infrastructure has secured a significant order for Mumbai Metro Line 4, marking another major milestone in the company’s expanding urban transport portfolio. The project forms a critical part of Mumbai’s metro expansion plan aimed at easing congestion and improving east–west connectivity across the city’s densely populated corridors.
According to officials, the scope of work includes the construction of elevated viaducts, stations, and associated civil infrastructure along key stretches of Line 4. Once completed, the corridor is expected to substantially reduce travel time and improve daily commuting for thousands of passengers, while also easing pressure on Mumbai’s overburdened road network.
Industry experts note that L&T’s strong execution track record in complex metro and rail infrastructure projects played a key role in securing the order. The company has been at the forefront of India’s metro construction boom, delivering projects across major cities with a focus on quality, safety, and timely completion.
Mumbai Metro Line 4 is a vital link in the city’s integrated public transport system, connecting northern suburbs and improving last-mile connectivity. The project is also expected to generate employment and stimulate economic activity along the corridor.
With this new order, L&T Transportation Infrastructure continues to reinforce its leadership position in India’s fast-growing urban mobility and metro rail segment.
