Aegis Logistics has operationalised its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bottling plant with an annual capacity of 35,000 metric tonnes (MT) at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) in Maharashtra, strengthening its energy logistics infrastructure.
The newly commissioned facility forms part of the company’s broader greenfield J2 project at JNPA, which involves a total investment of ₹1,675 crore. The project includes cryogenic LPG storage infrastructure with a capacity of 77,286 MT, enabling the handling and storage of imported LPG.
The integration of bottling operations with port-based import and storage facilities is expected to streamline LPG distribution and improve operational efficiency. By bringing these activities together, Aegis Logistics aims to strengthen the movement of LPG from import terminals to distribution channels.
The bottling plant is also expected to enhance the utilisation of the company’s existing gas infrastructure and support increased throughput across its energy logistics operations.
The development highlights the growing importance of integrated port infrastructure in managing energy imports and improving supply chain efficiency. With dedicated storage and bottling capabilities at JNPA, the project strengthens Aegis Logistics’ presence in India’s LPG handling and distribution ecosystem.
The commissioning of the facility represents another step in the company’s infrastructure expansion strategy, supporting its efforts to build integrated logistics capabilities around key maritime gateways and meet the requirements of India’s evolving energy supply chain.
