Dhaula Kuan–Manesar Elevated Road Gets a Fresh Push

Date:

Union Minister and Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh has urged Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to accelerate work on the long-awaited Dhaula Kuan–Manesar elevated road project — a vital corridor aimed at decongesting one of the busiest routes in the National Capital Region.

The Dhaula Kuan–Manesar stretch, which connects Delhi to Jaipur via Gurgaon, faces chronic traffic jams, particularly at Mahipalpur and Kapashera, where commuters often lose up to 30 minutes covering short distances. The proposed elevated corridor with service lanes is expected to offer signal-free connectivity and reduce travel time drastically.

During the meeting, Gadkari directed officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the ministry to fast-track planning and execution of the project. Inderjit also highlighted delays in several ongoing infrastructure works such as the Panchgaon toll plaza and the Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari highway, demanding clear accountability and deadlines for contractors.

Environmental and drainage concerns were also discussed, especially in the Dharuhera-Bhiwadi industrial belt, where untreated waste and poor stormwater management have caused repeated flooding. The government plans to install treatment infrastructure and underground pipelines to address these issues by year-end.

For the thousands who travel daily between Delhi, Gurgaon and Manesar, this project represents a long-awaited relief from bottlenecks and pollution. Once implemented, the elevated road promises smoother mobility, improved logistics and a major boost to NCR’s connectivity and economic growth.
