BharatBenz Unveils HX & TorqShift Trucks to Fuel India’s Infra Push

Date:

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has unveiled its enhanced BharatBenz HX and TorqShift series, purpose-built for India’s booming infrastructure and mining sectors. These next-generation trucks were developed following extensive feedback from fleet operators seeking higher payloads, reduced maintenance and improved driver comfort.

The HX range, featuring models like the 2828C and 3532C, is engineered with a revamped suspension, axles, and powertrain to boost uptime, productivity, and total cost of ownership. The TorqShift series introduces Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) to ease driver fatigue and enhance consistency in challenging mining operations.

Before going into full production, more than 200 HX trucks and over 80 TorqShift units underwent real-world trials at construction and mining sites nationwide, proving significant gains in operational efficiency and profitability. Built at DICV’s Oragadam facility near Chennai, these trucks are priced between ₹56–65 lakh and sold via a network of 385 dealers supported by predictive analytics and robust after-sales services.

With India’s construction and mining equipment market expected to grow from $16 billion to $45 billion by 2030, DICV aims to capture a larger share while replacing aging fleets and boosting infrastructure growth.
