BHEL Secures ₹6,200 Crore Order for Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for the steam generator island package of the 2×660 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II project in Purulia, West Bengal.
The order, valued at approximately ₹6,200 crore, includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of key components such as the steam generator and auxiliaries, electrostatic precipitator (ESP), flue gas desulphurization (FGD) systems, ash handling systems, electrical and control & instrumentation (C&I), along with associated civil works.
The project is slated for completion in phases, with the first unit expected to be ready in 48 months and the second in 52 months. This initiative aligns with India’s commitment to improving power infrastructure while integrating advanced emission control technologies like FGD and ESP, ensuring compliance with environmental norms.
