The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the construction of 845 government residential units for Allahabad High Court officers in Prayagraj to address the shortage of official accommodation for Class I and Class II officers.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna announced that the proposed residential complex will be developed across 10.37 acres in the Devghat-Jhalwa area of Prayagraj. The project has an estimated cost of Rs 543.41 crore, with the Cabinet approving an initial release of Rs 50 crore to begin construction activities.
The development is expected to improve housing availability for judicial officers and strengthen the supporting infrastructure of the Allahabad High Court. The project forms part of efforts to provide suitable residential facilities for officers and meet their accommodation requirements.
The large-scale construction project is also expected to create business opportunities for various stakeholders in the infrastructure sector. Civil construction contractors, building material suppliers, electrical and plumbing service providers, and other infrastructure companies may benefit from the upcoming development.
Once completed, the residential complex is expected to contribute to improved residential facilities for High Court officers in Prayagraj. The project will also support construction-related economic activity in the region during its implementation, creating potential opportunities across multiple segments of the building and infrastructure supply chain.
